Design and Visible Details

A richly decorated crown, long ear ornaments, and multi-part jewelry frame the face. Intricate patterns adorn the robes, while floral motifs flank the figure on both sides. The right hand is extended downward, open, while the left is positioned in front of the chest. The back view reveals further ornamentation on the robes, as well as the detailing of the hair and headdress. The contrast between the gold-toned and dark sections highlights the individual details. Any visible surface irregularities are an inherent part of this piece’s character.

The four product photos show the front, back, and side views, along with a close-up of the face and crown. This compact figure is well-suited for a display cabinet, a collection of Buddhist art, or a personal space for devotion.

Cultural and Art-Historical Background

Green Tara is a significant female figure in Tibetan Buddhism and the Buddhist art of the Himalayas. In religious tradition, she embodies compassion and a readiness to assist others. Her image is prevalent throughout the Buddhist traditions of Tibet, Nepal, Bhutan, and beyond.

Classic iconography includes a relaxed seated posture with the right leg extended forward, an open right hand—signifying the gesture of generosity—and *utpala* (lotus) blossoms. The crown, jewelry, and elaborately designed robes are consistent with traditional visual language. The name "Green Tara" refers to the figure herself and does not imply that the surface of the statue is green in color. These descriptions refer to cultural symbolism and religious tradition; they do not constitute any guaranteed effects or properties of the object.
